How does Mupirocin ointment Work?

It works by preventing the bacteria from growing on your skin.  Use Mupirocin ointment only on the skin. Clean and dry the affected area first. Then apply a small amount of Mupirocin cream to the area as directed by your physician, usually Three times a day. You may cover the treated area with a bandage. Composition of Mupirocin ointment

A gram of cream consists of mupirocin 20 mg (2%) in a bland water-soluble ointment base.
